Making a geisha quilt was not on my bucket list. But I saw this panel in a store and it kept calling to me - primarily because one of our family members is very interested in the geisha culture. So I bought it, brought it home, cut it up and sewed it back together with other fabric and here is the result. If I had it to do over again I would make it less symetrical but I am pleased with the colors and it was a great chance to practice lots of FMQ. It will be named "Karyukai" or "flower and willow world," said to be part of the geisha culture. I hope the recipient is surprised and pleased.
