Thanks, everyone. Time for a little secret. I stitched (pieced) the heart sides together before I appliqued them to the background. That way I got a cohesive flower appearance. I have been doing this when there are 3 or 4 hearts making a flower. The first on we did, my hearts didn't end up touching, so I've been sewing them together since then. Yes, I used the machine. Did the first one by hand - switched to machine after that!

Thanks Kathy for sharing yet another tip. My overhead lightbulb lit up when I read it. Of course!

ooooo.......Kathy your block is so beautiful!!!!

I finished mine today. I used a favorite fabric and fussy cut the flowers. ;-)

My last block for the second row!!! YIPEE!!!!!!

My first two rows!! I still have to trim 7 of the blocks to 7 1/2. I only did that to the first block I made. Figure I will trim them all up just before I put the center together.

I wasn't sure about using my "fall" colors in this block, but I really loved the fabric and thought to myself, "What have I got to lose? If it doesn't work with the others, I'll use it for something else." Once it was finished and I placed it next to the other blocks, I was so happy with how they looked together. It seems that no matter what colors we use it all works!! :D :D

You are so right Patty, you can throw the kitchen sink at this quilt and it just keeps looking great - your set is looking just that.
