Patti, your blocks are really beautiful, and love your color choices, can't wait to see your center unit completed. Your quilt will be stunning.

    girls, girls, girls!!!!
both blocks have me drooling and drooling!
I have to get back to babysitting today...I don't know whether I'm all pumped up, or totally deflated, lol...
ok...pumped up...I can continue with the hand sewing.
My 7 yr. old grandD loves fabrics and creating and she will look over my shoulder and watch my progress.
She asked yesterday as her daddy was scooping them up for the night, if I was going to work on my block again today.
She is really anxious to see me get on with it.
    How's that for motivation etc.
She is enthralled with the process.
I really love these blocks, you gals did...yum-yum! :XD:

Mousie you are at a great time in your life. I remember when my grandchildren were small. I made a quilt for my youngest grandson to use at naptime at school. His brother was 4 years older and he wanted to help. I let him "quilt" with my embroidery stitch that was shaped like an airplane. His dad had a pilot's license and loved to fly. He took the boys up with him. When their dad came to pick them up the older boy was so proud of all the airplanes he had made on his brother's quilt. His dad was all upset because I was trying to make his sons "gay". I told him to take a pill and get over himself. Many men enjoy needlework and they are definitely not gay. :-) :-) :-)

Losie, I have 200 MEN who quilt - & get paid for it! OK, they're inmates at the prison, but they still are men. Some are gay, but some of them are gang-bangers so it runs the gammut. Some of these guys are really good at it, too.

Losie, my DH knits beautifully and cross-stitches as well. He has just finished a lovely shawl for our new grand-baby.

Craft is craft no matter what or who and DH likes to have something he can do inside of an evening.

He also does leadlighting and woodworking.

I agree, craft knows no gender.
What? we women can't put wood together?
My middle dd is 32 and a few years ago, she built 3 beautiful cabinets over washer and dryer, after building a shower with tiles all by herself!
Yes, I agree, grandbaby is very much a quilter/sewer already.
She has her own stash drawer in my sewing room and we have a date to make something new together, after mommy comes home and gets settled.
Can't sew with baby sister there!
Baby sister has sat in my lap at the serger though. They all seem to love the sound of a serger and the speed
