I agree to that! Some are already having problems in school, not just Math, but Spelling. I recently allowed my son (a Senior)to have texting, the stipulation being no shortcuts. My husband can't spell so we're used to figuring out mispellings. So, even if the translation isn't spelled correctly, some of us still know what you mean.

While you are at it... Tre biene is thank-you, what is Muy biene? Many thanks?

Tres biene is French for very good. same for mui bien only that's Spanish. Thank you in French is Merci. In Spanish, it's gracias.

Gosh, it's been so long since I took French. Living here in New Mexico, I still don't know a lick of Spanish as it doesn't flow over to French well at all! When I was in New Hampshire, the French came in handy for pronouncing all the French Canadian names! Lived in Milwaukee, but didn't pick up any German, only a rhyme for learning how to pronounce all those "ei" & "ie" words.

Kathy, interesting that you say mui biene. In actual fact I spelled the bien wrong I added an "E" however the way we spell the other word is muy. still means the same

As you say the kids in England can just about manage to spell because most leave school unable to read properly. I have a friend (adult) who texts me and she uses SOS thats sorry.

We have lots of Germans here in the area where I am

Elle, my foreign spelling isn't too good these days as I haven't had to write anything much more than, "on day xyz, Inmate#12345 did violate rule #blah, blah, blah." :-) so I know I'm probably wrong on the mui(y) or bean & other words. At least you guys get my intentions!!!

Around here, when some one says," Como s'ta frijoles?" , we reply with , "Muy BEAN!" Spelling not even close, I'm sure. This is supposed to be funny. The inmates get pinto beans every day.

Finally got mine done. In all actuality, it didn't take as long as some of the others. I just don't sit still for very long at a time. Anyway, I am going to have to thread paint some on that inner part on the scroll. My fabric is going to fray there if I don't. DH really likes this one though.

Oh that's right! Merci is thank you. Danke (don k) is thank you in German. (Was interesting in Switzerland corner near Germany and France where they mixed the three languages together.) I know some Spanish, just picking up a few. French was 30+ years ago though and do remember a few. Multi lingual basically with numbers. Not fluent in anything but English.
