The second problem is that my petals meet and form straight sides instead of nice curves as they come towards the center of the flower. What in the world did I do wrong to get them to do this????
I took a tailoring class from Stretch N Sew many years ago. We were making blazers with bound buttonholes and all of us were upset with our results. Our instructor told us "In sewing there is no such thing as a mistake; just a creative new way of doing things." I figure the same thing applies to quilting. I have certainly created numerous different ways of making these blocks.

Here is my AOTH #8. This is all I did while quilting with my new quiltingbody- first time we met. We had a great time knowning about each other and quilting.

I am not sure if I shuld add the center piece. What do you think? If I do I was thinking a purple-lilac color.

I think it looks great just the way it is, and if you haven't done the circles yet? you know how hard it is to draw a perfect one?
try sewing in a perfect circle...I haven't done that yet! ;-)

are those the little plastic thingies that are round and have the holes cut out on the edges?
I did ok, after much fiddling...on my #9, but today I sewed them down...should have left them pinned, lol.
oh well, last time I tried to rip stitches that little? I ripped alright...two tiny holes in a block.
    Had to retire that one!
It will be staying "as is".
