That looks beautiful Rox. It's great to see inidividual touches that make everyone's work unique.

Have you joined it into the seam or appliqued it on and did you mitre that corner? It works beautifully whichever way you did it but inquiring minds like to know details. (That's why I'm in the rear, so I can benefit from all tips and advice.)

Your dye job on the lace is wonderful! So creative! It's going to look terrific on your quilt. Who says we need to search for scallops in a border print? Great job!

I just tried to access this page through my notification and it was blocked as a dangerous site by my anti-virus.

    Don't know why.

Thanks Deecee, this one was a battle for me (as usual). I have been using the QAYG method on my blocks so the border was a bit of a puzzle. What I did was cut the border strip of black and attach it just the same as if it were a block. I then folded over the seam for the inside toward the blocks and sewed it down as normal. I then pinned the lace upside down against the seam and sewed it down. Then I flipped the lace over and ironed it flat. When I add the next row of blocks, and sew down the seam on that side, I'll tack the lace down and hopefully it will look right. And no, I did not miter that corner---did the 4 strips and had a slight overlay on the lace so that the corner was covered. I'm sure this is as clear as mud. I'm terrible at giving directions.

I'm squinting so I can visualise while reading your reply Rox but, yes, I do get what you are saying. I think you have done a wonderful job and probably joined the trend setters group for border variations. .

I wish I could take the credit for the lace, but someone else here on the board suggested it first. I'm not sure who or where, but it was stated as their love of the openness of the blocks reminding her of lace! I dreamed it one night--complete with the lace border. So there it is.
