As I could not post pics on Main site, I am posting on here showing you my African Quilt. As I mentioned I bought most of the fabric in Africa. I also painted a couple of the blocks including the mask and the lady with the beads in her hair. I also made the SA flag. I don't know whether you can see the beads very clearly, but all of these I bought in an African market. They are very big on beads out there.

Very colorful! You have a lot of work invested in it, and it shows! Very African!

I love your quilt, it is amazing. I have been buying ethnic cottons to make a quilt, I found this place has excellent prices but haven't sent in my order yet. See what you think. http://www.corinthianmills.com/cotto...ic-prints.html

I keep telling my friend I will make her a quilt. But she wants it a certain way with the african motif. Every time we try and look for fabric it costs like $30/yd. It's been awhile since we have looked and she's getting married in March and would like to have it for her wedding.

BTW...I love your quilt, very unique. :0)

Very nice! I love what you did with all the fabrics. Very inspiring to me. You did a beautiful job with the customized blocks.

Yes. I love those fabrics from Corinthian Mills. Yhe prices seem good to me, although here in the UK our prices are a lot higher than yours. Most of the pieces I bought were samples about 18" square and I think I paid the equivalent of about 50p each which would be I think about 75cents. As you can see there are lots of different fabrics in my quilt, and I did not have a pattern, it just evolved as I went along.

What a beautiful piece of Art you have created with those wonderful fabrics. I envy those of you that can travel the world. I am so busy at home with sewing and grand children that I just love hearing and seeing what others do. I have a quilt I am working on it is African Mud cloth. (fabric found at goodwill 3 yards for $7.99) The piecing took me maybe 2 days, but the quilting is taking much longer. I would love to get it done before next year, it's a goal.
