this is a tute on finishing quilts using facings. just like a hem. i find it helpful when edges need to be eased onto a straight edge.. in your case, i would baste the edge of the bias bits very carefully before i removed the existing green border which will have to come off whatever you do. sorry about that.
after the border is gone go with patrice....press, press, press. if you bind you take the chance of simply ending up with a wiggly bound border. so think about the facing technique.

I starched n pressed n it helped a little. I am going to try 1 more time with the green border. I also have a red border that goes on it. I tried so hard not to have a wavy border. Wish me luck.

My Mom told me when I made my first quilt to measure the quilt side and then cut the borders just a 1/4 inch shorter. Then pin in the middle and on the ends and it would fit fine. She maintained that if you cut the borders the right length they would be too big... Old wife's tale or not I do that now and find that the borders fit better!

Oooooh, it's so pretty, i have a rule, don't undo anything, work around it lol. Ok, i like Patrice's idea of having no border, and using the light green for binding, sooooo, lol, i say why take the green border off then :) Just fold iin half, wrong sides together, and the fold in half again to the back, and slip stitch, instant binding :) :) :) Hey, it's a Gorgeous quilt :)

steam press and hand baste the pieced border into submission as you sandwich it for quilting and then use the lighter green as binding.

Wow that is a very pretty quilt......Sometimes the quilter (if done by machine) can take some of that wave out of the border ......I do like everyones ideas and hope one will work for you....that bias border stuff is tricky.....Good luck on your quilt and the rest of the borders...it's a beauty!......:-)
