Airplane Quilt

Airplane Quilt
I am a private pilot, and I belong to a woman pilot organization called the 99s. Our local chapter has made this airplane quilt to raffle off. We have several quilters in our chapter, and this is the third quilt we have made with this airplane block pattern. Another member and I planned it out and shopped for the fabrics. We cut block kits and quite a few of our members made a block or two. Then the two of us assembled the top and made the 4 corner pp stars. We have a longarm quilter in our group too, she quilted it. It's queen size, 86"W x 100"L.
It is called "Fly the Oregon Skies". The border fabric has vintage airline motifs, and the grey sky background could be Oregon, LOL. The border was the inspiration for the airplane colors. It is my favorite of the 3 we have done. The only thing we wish we had chosen different is the prop fabric, it's silver Fairy Frost and it does not show up against the grey sky background.
The proceeds from the raffle will enable our chapter to support the 99s mission of promoting women in aviation and reaching out to young people to introduce them to the field of aviation and potential career opportunities in this field.

Oh wow, so cool. I love the striped planes so much. I like them all but those are my favorites. And those cornerstones in the border are just so perfect. Your background fabric looks like clouds, so cool.
