I just finished this almost black and white strip quilt for my neice and her new husband. I've wanted to make a strip quilt for a long time and finally got up the nerve to try it. The little piece of red in the binding was my neighbor's idea. I'm going to make another out of the extra 3" strips I cut for this quilt, I hadn't a clue of how many to cut so I just cut LOTS. It went together very fast, two days.

oooh, I really like your quilt! I'm a big fan of black and whites! And I do like the touch of red in the binding.

very nice quilt. What is the reason for the small piece of red?

Your quilt is beautiful. I have a black and white one made almost like your in different strips. I think i will have mine quilted in red.

How did you figure the length and placement of each strip Was there a pattern of sorts to follow? I love the looks of your quilt and think it is really sharp looking! Carol

Thanks for the nice comments ladies. There is no reason for the red in the binding except that I told my neighbor the quilt is almost black and white because in a few of the fabrics the white is whiter than other pieces. She said I should make the "Almost" more obvious.
I had no pattern to the strips, just tried for various lengths and values.
