I was camping last weekend and when a lady heard I made quilts, she asked if I had stopped at the place selling quilting fabric on my way in. Aargh! I had come from the other direction. Of course, when we left, we HAD to drive south to find this place. It turned out to be a garage sale long past, but being a rural place I made DH drive in anyways. Turns out this dear old man lost his wife last year and his daughter was out helping him clean out some things. The wife had been a quilter so he understood why I drove out to find his place after a casual mention at a campground. They still had fabric left and let me leave with this pile for $35. Some is lengths although most half or quarter yards. I wish I had been there at the start

What a find. I'm going camping this week. Maybe I'll be just as lucky.

Oh Bless his heart. It was very nice of him to give you such a great deal. I know it must be terrible for him to get rid of her things.

What a wonderful find! I think you should use as many of the fabrics as you can in a scrappy quilt and then name it for your vacation area you were visiting.
