You did a fantastic job! I am sorry for the hurt feelings and it is so much work and time put in homemade quilts and other items. I've made things for my DIL that were never used and it does hurt.

The quite is adorable. I know how you feel, the same thing
happened to my friend when she gave a quilt at a baby
shower. Once the parents to be have a chance to look at it again
    they will love it.

Oh your quilt is just beautiful. Their comments....can you tell they are NOT quilters since they don't see the value of the love and time spent to make it???

I don't think you are being sensitive, but I wonder if she thought it was store bought. It does look perfect, after all!

That happened to me once and later the recipient said "You MADE that?" LOL! It was a nice compliment, although kind of backhanded.

Perhaps she will later realize and let you know how much she appreciates it. You did a fabulous job with the fabric choices. The quilt is just adorable! Pat

You are talking with an audience that really understands quilts and the process. Your quilt is inventive and charming. Non quilters have absolutely no concept or true appreciation for the expertise that goes into making one. I think they may be frightened by it as they never want to be caught getting involved, they have life on the surface speeding them on. I admire you gift. Thanks for sharing your experience as it does act as a guide for the rest of us.

Some people are just ungrateful. My feelings would have been a little hurt too. I made one for my DIL's SIL and mailed it to her and never got a thank you or any kind of comment. So................her next SIL didn't get anything! I hope that is the baby's most favorite blanket and that he takes it everywhere with him! You can be honored if he drags it around and wears it out!

Who in their right mind wouldn't love this quilt? I'm sorry for you, and I also know how you feel, believe me, I do. This quilt is beautiful and even if it wasn't done in the theme they wanted, what's wrong with people? What happened to appreciating any and all things that are given to them? We live in a time now that people have to register for "things" they want and not "need". I would love this quilt.
