I agree with Charlee, it's so perfect that it looks store bought, especially with the other pieces. They will get the full impact later on. If not, send it to me, it's gorgeous.

The proof will be in the pudding when it comes time to actually use the two different ones. A similar thing happened to me and I was kinda hurt UNTIL the baby came. They actually use the one I made and brag on it a lot when others see it. The one that they made a fuss over at the shower turned out to be from someone who was not as close but they felt for family peace that they had to make a big deal. I think your quilt is really great and will be loved and used a lot more than you think it will.

I really believe people who don't quilt don't have a clue what goes into it. I remember having a shirt tales cross stitch from my godmother when I was a little girl. Until I starting doing that myself, I didn't realize the work that had gone into it.

Life is too short to concern yourself about thoughtless persons. People do not understand how much work is spent putting together the beautiful quilt. You did a fabulous job. You go girl.

Your quilt is beautiful and that was a nice save to add the monkeys. I hope they will appreciate it more as time goes on, but at least, you know in your heart what a great job you did.

    Hugs!!

It's an adorable quilt and shame on them for not appreciating your gift of time and thoughtfulness.

As long as you know you did the 'right thing' is all that matters. You can't be responsible for the reaction of others. A gift is a gift and really ought to be received graciously whether it is liked or not. I hope you signed the quilt or at least put your label on it.
I think you incorporated the theme very inventively and made a unique baby quilt that can transfer to an older child.

I'm so sorry that the husband and mother were so insensitive. I seriously doubt that they know what a treasure they received. The quilt you made is gorgeous and you did a nice segway into the monkeys and jungle theme. Your quilt is gorgeous and I'm sure that down the line they will learn to appreciate all your hard work. People who don't quilt do not realize the time and expense you put into a quilt that you made with love. I think you did a great job and put them down to being schmucks (sp), and rude. I've had that happen to me a couple of times, and it hurts. Time will tell - how long can a fleece blanket last. Hopefully the baby will choose the quilt over the fleece and then you will have your reward.

It is stunning! I am not sure why there was no comment or pictures taken. Your gifts were also extremely generous. I am sure baby will enjoy it all and that is whom it was for any ways.
