Default Amy Butler Midwest Modern Strip Quilt

This is another quilt recently finished. This one is a gift for my daughter. I have seen this done here on the QB and decided to try the technique. Six strips sewn into a tube then cut triangles which when open are squares!!

Here is the front (my helper wasn't tall enough - lol)

The back - a cozy flannel - but did not have enough so used some left over blocks as well.

For the binding, I used the left over strips not used in the blocks

Your quilt is another work of art... I too had to try this pattern. It was just fun to do.

Very nice quilt, love the fabric colors. Is the pattern or instructions on this site somewhere? Sounds like an interesting method I would like to try.

I used six strips and I think they came out to be just about 8.5" square when opened up
Here is Jenny at MSQC - she is using 2 strips and a 4.5" background strip

And here is a tutorial that uses six strips

Beautiful. The blocks on the back look like they are there on purpose, not because you didn't have enough of the backing fabric. Everything ties no nicely together.
