    I have a machine like your's too! It was my grandmother's. Fortunately it came in a cabinet, but your table is fabulous. I've been thinking of a way to set my portable down in a table. You've come up with a relatively easy plan. I just may have to try something like it!

    Have a friend who did something similar. She bought a table at a garage sale,cut a hole in the table for the machine to sit down in.Built a box recessed in the cut out. Much easier solution.
