Default Another old quilt I quilted

This was pieced in 1900. The border was outsized, but I quilted it the way it was. It was badly stained, but cleaned up nicely.

what did you use to clean it? It sparkles! Great save and /or restore. Love the quilting.

I took the quilt and soaked it in my bath tub with a little synthrapol and a couple of tablespoons of dawn dish soap. After 24 hours,I rinsed it and put hot water in the tub with about 1/2 cup of retro clean( I get it off the internet). I swished it around in the tub two or three times a day, just letting it soak....for 5 days. ( thank goodness we have a shower). Then,I put it in my washer( it doesn't have an agitator) on a short, cold rinse and spin cycle. All the yucky, smelly, yellow discoloration, plus the old stains came out. It is very good quality fabric to start with, which helps.
