This is such a pretty quilt. Your friend was so sweet to send you that lovely note to express her appreciation for all your hard work. Sometimes people just can't say things like that in person. Your attitude is remarkable indeed. So glad your work is appreciated.

She was probably just so stunned and in awe that you had made her a quilt that she didn't jump up and down with excitement. But it seems like she is very well pleased with the quilt, from her responses. Pretty quilt, so glad she really likes it. But I'm with you just the feeling I get when I give someone a quilt really makes me feel so good.

I just love the quilt. What a nice thing you did. I am sure she was in shock.

I knit as well, and two summers back I attempted to make a teddy bear fashioned after the one seen in the Mr. Bean British TV comedy. It was too large, so I made another scaled down. I posted them on Facebook and an old and dear friend saw them and made funny comments about them, something about how the vacant stares look like we did in our younger and sillier days.

This year, she commented again about the vacant stare from the bears' eyes, so I shipped the large one to her so it could stare at her in person. She waited until Christmas to open it. She apparently loves it, because she now uses it as her Facebook profile picture.

All in good fun, we've been laughing together for nearly forty years even though we are thousands of miles apart.
    That is a cute bear!!

What a lovely story. Some people just express things differently, and it was quite wise of you to not be offended when she didn't react in a excited, over the top manner. It sounds like you really touched her heart. :) Bless you!
