Wonderful quilt and I am so glad she loves it! But then, who wouldn't love it! You put a lot of thought and work into it - well done!

It's the perfect way to commemorate her trip to Scotland. You did a wonderful job. Congrats.

Our national hero second to Wallace.

My oldest traced relative is 'John with the black lip' back in 1000s but closer to home my ancestors were Jacobites with the last with title having his lands and taken from him for taking part in the 45. He escaped censure for the 15. He was 67 yrs old in 45 but must've been a decent laird as he was hidden by locals disguised as a beggar in the village and on two occasions when the redcoats, who were relentless in trying to catch the old guy, raided the family castle (small baronial one at Rosehearty) they failed to identify him sitting at the kitchen hearth. On one other occasion the Redcoats came across him dressed in his rags sleeping in a ditch. One took pity on him giving him a penny to find himself some sustenance. He died aged 83 still in disguise and still hiding from persecution. Most of the men he took with him to fight the cause perished at Culloden.
The Jacobite spirit remains as strong in our family today as it did in the 1700's.

Quilt is beautiful. I too fell in love with all of Scotland when I was there several years ago (except the rain). Beautiful memories.
