    Even though a lot of blocks can be "simplified" by making them with more pieces, sometimes it's fun to do it the "original" way - just because we can!

    When business ever slows down (which I hope it doesnt :) ) I will start to work on it. I have 3 quilts I need to work on right now and I am fixing to just work 5 days a week instead of 6 so I can relax quilting.

    But the addition to the studio has to happen before I can do that.

    She appliqued a square in the corner of a four patch. Today you would sew a small square in the corner of two of the blocks (bow tie) on the diagonal and trim 1/4inch from the seam.

    Here is a quick way to make a bow tie block without that set-in seam. You can use any size block and can cut the corner (aka snowball sq.) any size you wish.
    I generally do NOT cut off the back of the larger sq.....just the middle of the small sq.

    Its a bow tie quilt.. I made one out of 1930 repro fabrics.. Its really fast and simple..
