    Cute Elephant. Great story. Your quilting is steller and finishes the quilt perfectly. I hope she loves the quilt. It really is cute!!

    Wonderful finish! Thank you for sharing that wonderful story. I also have an heirloom quilt project that was started by my mother over 20+ years ago. She made many quilts in her lifetime, but I didn't know until after her passing there was one flimsey she never made into a quilt. I've saved it from the time the house was cleaned out and had it in my basement for 20 years. How long ago she may have made it could have been several more. I have grown confident enough in my quilting skills that I finally decided to get it out and quilt it. I have not been able to make myself do it after examining it. Some seams need to be redone (coming loose), and honestly, I just don't think it's very nice. In fact, it's downright ugly. Going to be hard to try to make it into a loved heirloom!
