I think a sampler as a first quilt is a great way to go. It was one of my first and I learned so much. When I look at it now and see the quilting on the squares, You can tell which ones were the first, I had big stitches and hey now thats coming into style. It was a quilt as you go and it still is looking pretty good but faded. I want to make another sampler sometime cause that was over 20 years ago.Your color choice for the quilt probably says what colors were in vogue at that time. It's a pretty quilt and it has a story to tell. You gotta love that.

Thanks for the smile. I've been there and done that. Thank goodness I have a little more experience now. It's a lovely quilt.

I will share my worst and first. I did a quilt and in the border I had run out of the original black sashing fabric so I got some CHEEP stuff that added it in the border. Now I still have that quilt but the border has not lasted. It has just disintegrated. The rest of the quilt is fine and in good condition and that CHEEP stuff is gone leaving me we holes were it was. Live and learn.

Live and Learn, if we didn't make mistakes we'd never learn to tear it apart and do it over and over and over. For all the thread I've ripped out we could probably cover the world around...LOL I love the blocks and the lay out and when you're ready you'll take another crack at it.

    Keep on Quilting,
    Andie :-) :-) :-)
