This is a quilt pattern from 1982. Found years later with a lot of the fabric already set aside. Still working on the hand quilting. It is queen size. Called "Transportation Quilt"

Here's my avatar-- Patches n Pinwheels made with over 200 fabrics, mostly novelty fabrics. The quilt has lots of my favorite things- including dogs, dots, sky, books, flowers, cherries, watermelon, strawberries, Abe Lincoln, Harry Potter.

The pattern is Bonnie Hunter's and is available free on her website www.quiltville.com. If you love scrappy quilts, she is your kinda gal. Her site has about 40 free patterns for scrappy quilts!

    Coffee beans and cups etc

Mine is just a simple pinwheel, no pattern required. This was one of my first attempts at free motion quilting & the centers of the pinwheels were so bulky with seem allowances & all that quilting that I added matching buttons to each pinwheel to disguise the bulk. I know now not to cross the intersection every time but I didn't know then. It won first prize in the machine quilting category at my county fair.

This is a quilt I made for a friend here on the board. She loves the beach so I tried to make it "beachy". I really loved this quilt. I wrote in thread all over it. It is something I always do and the recipient has fun finding words I quilted into their quilt. The pattern is "Turning Twenty Again" Lots of fun making this quilt!!! And super easy too!!!

Here is mine, as you can see it is a traditional log cabin, with trapunto hearts in the center of each square. The lightest fabric, used for the sashing a center squares has famous quotes, which seemed so appropriate, as the gift was for my DIL, when she graduated with her BA in English. She completed her eduation while raising 4 little ones, aged 4 and under. She has since had another, which made 5 kids in 5.5 years! She is amazing. As I was spending hours quilting this, I couldn't help but think of all the hours that she was pouring into her kids and her education!

This isn't one that I made, however it is one of my quilts in my antique quilt collection. It was made in 1936, is all hand pieced and hand quilted by a lady named Ruth Dixon of Tennessee. I believe it was called "Southern Belle".
