I think it's beautiful, you can really see the work that went into it. Sometimes that is lost on the perfect designs, especially on the laymen. Even someone who doesn't know a thing about quilting can see exactly the kind of time you put into it.

Congrats on your happy news! Thanks for sharing that and your quilt. You made it with love and your little one loved it, 'nough said.

I teach school and give pretests before we study a unit to see what the kids know. Then the posttest is to see what they learned (and how well I taught it). This is your pretest! What you do now is your posttest ~ you will continue to get better and better. Thanks for sharing.

I have to totally agree with this post. That is a really challenging pattern for a first quilt. I'm glad your daughter loved it. now you have a "look how far I've come" quilt!

I agree! She loved it and that is all that matters!

I just had to add though, you picked a really hard pattern for your first quilt and all things considered you did a pretty good job. Can't imagine making a lonestar as my first.

This is exactly what I said even before I ready the comments! Incredibly ambitious! I never finished my first one - it's sitting in a box in the basement SOMEWHERE!!! LOL! What would it look like if I finished it?

Omg, I found this quilt, she LOVED IT, so I guess that is all that really matters. Looking at it the points do not match, clearly, LOL, it came apart a lot, so I hand stitched, I never quilter it, I had no idea how to so I tacked it with thread. All I can do is laugh, my new baby will have a little different. And I have now made some really nice quilts for my daughter, I just cannot believe how bad this one is. Lmbo. Hope you all get a kick out of it!!!

The piecing may not be perfect, but your daughter loved it, and it served its purpose. Got to start somewhere.

Congrats on the new little bundle of joy. Take care of yourself.
