    Default Ayden's T-Shirt Quilt

My 14 year old grandson Ayden got my only quilted Christmas gift this year! I'd been collecting his t-shirts and fabrics for a "Patriots" color quilt, but couldn't imagine a layout. One Saturday morning on Sewing with Nancy, she had a segment on Sew Big Blocks. I watched, took notes, and then immediately went to what my 3 yr old grandson Asa calls "the needle room", and created a block. This quilt goes together easily and quickly, and Ayden loves it! I think one of the best parts of creating a quilt for a family member or friend is thinking about them throughout the entire process. A nearby quilt store, Pine Needle Quilts, did an all over stipple...it didn't need anything fancy...since it will be used daily on his bed.

I am getting ready to make my son a t shirt quilt. Would you share your instructions. Your quilt is the
best one I've seen. Just love it.

I have that pattern and never thought to use it for t shirts. Thanks for the idea.

Your T-shirt quilt is so very nice. I agree that it's the nicest one I've seen too. I'm so glad I saw yours before I did one. It looks like the BQ Quilt pattern.
