Your quilt is delightful! That will add a cheery accent to the baby's room. I'm sure your great-niece will be tickled to receive it.

So sweet...the birds are adorable. What a wonderful ensemble for your niece. Don’t you just love it when a project comes together nicely and you used what you had in your stash?

I love this quilt/pattern. Was just yesterday looking for my pattern to make a baby quilt when they don't want to know the sex of the baby.

My quilt was inspired by the pattern. I didn't care for the way they did the pinwheels, the points were cut off. I know that's a 'look', but after carefully constructing my HSTs, I'll be darned if I clip them. I also pieced the legs (pattern has you embroider them) and I did turned applique rather than raw edge.
It's my first applique project, so I made a practice bird block. This gave me the opportunity to audition my quilting pattern and then make a cute gift bag. From a prior project I had strips of the blue ladybug fabric that I added to the quilt back and the bag handles.
I can see why baby quilts are addictive. This was a really quick project.
Love your quilt! thanks for the link too.
