you'll notice that a lot of pattern designers use traditional blocks, then name the quilt/pattern based on the fabrics they used, the intended purpose for the project, or on some other [often] unrelated reason.

Right on the button Patrice, It's what ever you decide to name the quilt, Your choice in colors, layout, and size. A traditional block, but your choices.
So it's the CREATOR's decision on what to name it. Beautiful Quilt and Beautiful work.

yep that is definetely courthouse steps to me!! beautiful quilt!
I am basting a courthouse steps this morning (putting it on the machine to quilt this afternoon). This quilt is for my bf's 1 year old nephew. It will be for his big boy bed sometime this year. I will post photos when its done.. I"m aiming for another week to complete it.
