I first made the pattern in the computer, then I traced my face onto a plain white square from the computer print-out. I hand embroidered it with embroidery floss. Then I cut out the circle and appliqued it over the dresden plate block.
What program/software where you using to make the pattern on the computer?[/quote]

Well, I had not read far enough in the message string to realize Dashton4 had posted the link to her site...Thank you thank you

    You are welcome!
The pattern is called "Sunflower Baby" and I use the program InDesign for Macintosh computers. Here's the link again:

Actually, I love it!!! It's adorable!!! But it reminds me of a picture one of my uncles used to insult the other one, as kids.
He put his brother's face in the middle, and called him a "blooming idiot!"

LOL ... that is the same as the definition of a doll? A stuffed idiot <wave> sometimes, we really are impacted for life by childish barbs, huh? I still think babies and baby dolls are nice, though <wave>

I usually don't like Dresden plate but this is such a feel good little quilt. Well done!

katesnanna, I love your avatar. Beautiful colors and love the butterfly. Is it your own pattern?

Looks like the face on Kewpie dolls from the '30s. Very cute retro quilt.

I haven't made mine yet but hopefully in the near future. I have wondering about Darcy. Haven't heard from her in awhile. Love to see what she has created.
