I finished the baby quilt about 4 weeks ago and it has just been sitting here waiting for the label. I made the label on Saturday and sewed it on the quilt tonight.
This is for my DH's BFF who lives in Colorado and is a Fireman/Paramedic. He turned 48 a couple weeks before his first born, a son, was born in Nov. Craig is only a month or so younger than me. I could not imagine starting a family at my age. My kids are already grown up. Anyway his wife is only 37 so......

Back of quilt. Found these larger prints and just had to include both on the back of the quilt

A close of of the label

Oh, the pattern for this quilt and the other one I posted is called Bits and Pieces. It is a really fast and easy fat quarter quilt with 9 inch blocks and I have made a bunch of these cause I can whip them up real fast for gifts.

Don't worry about ages when it comes to starting a family...
My Dads' first child was born when he was 28, then 30 then the next one (me) at 51 and my younger brother at 56.
Only bad thing was/is that I do not know my oldest brother and sister but know my nieces and nephews like they were my siblings...
Makes for a strange family dynamic...but we are what we are.

My brother had his first child 2 years ago at 48 as well. He is not fifty and they would like to have another. It is a first child, first marriage for him and his wife. She just turned 40 so she was 38 when they had their first. My girls are old enough to be their cousin's mother. Someday, my grandkids will be playing with their aunt!!!

Love the fabric and pattern ! And I agree I wouldn't want to start a family at 48 or 50 ! No way , no how , not gonna happen.. At that age I want to be waiting for grandbabies...
