    I didn't really use a pattern. I just found a circle the size I wanted ( an aluminum tray) traced around and sewed on the circle. Cut it out, put a little slit close to the edge to turn it. Then made a square piece of cardboard that fit the inside. Sewed them together in a row (flannel on the outside for the top) then sewed the rows together. I wanted to leave the ends scallopped but didn't plan ahead. I used permanent marker to draw the squares! Next time I'll plan ahead.
