I recently made this rag quilt for a friend. I purchased the fabric in two bundles of fat quarters a few years ago. I thought the colours all went well together but others disagree.

I agree. Colors all look 'together' to me. :-) Nicely done.

Who ever said that was wrong -- its a beautiful combination of colors and patterns. Someone is going to love it!
You do the same thing I do -- I fold the new quilt up nicely and tie with ribbon. Another nice thing to do is to make a small pillowcase for a child and put the quilt into that (and then tie with ribbon) -- a two part gift that way.
