Patterns: Jelly Bargelly designed by Nancy Altsman, Black Cat Creations (www.black-cat-creations.com) modified by using 23 different fabrics instead of only 17 (which made the bargello longer than the pattern) (also cut a few extra strips from my tubes which modified the set a bit and made it just slightly wider) and of course I did not use the borders from that pattern. The border blocks are from 2011 The Fabric Shop Network, Inc Celebration Sampler by Grace Marko. Both the bargello and the border blocks are made of batiks. The sashing between the blocks plus on each end of the block strips is a 2 1/2 inch strip of batik fabric. The green sashing and border is from a fabric in my stash. Should I admit that the border widths were determined by "how wide can I make these strips and have enough fabric" and "this looks good to me"? Inner sash ended up 3 1/2 inches, top and bottom borders are 2 1/2 inches, side borders almost 8 inches. I have a scrap of the green left that is about 8 inches by 14".

How long? I made the bargello in about a week. The blocks I made in Patches and Petals (Belleville, WI) Saturday Block of the Month Club so that was a year. Some months we made more than one block and I left 4 blocks out of this quilt. The set took more time figuring out what I wanted to do than it did to do it. Finished size is 90 x 95.

WOW! Must have taken you forever to even put your colors together, much less the quilt. I love the sampler blocks all are so wonderful. Thank you.

I agree. It never would have dawned on me to put the two together. It looks wonderful. What a great idea.

Great bargello and I love the colors! The quilt blocks look nice going down the side.
