Default Barnbum's Back to Nature quilted by Feline Fanatic

Barnbum entrusted her beautiful Back to Nature sampler quilt to me. I hope she is happy with the finished product. I took loads of pictures to share.

This quilt was done with all Moda floral fabrics. Florals are a specialty of Barnbum's and she has such awesome taste in fabric and an eye for color that would rival any artist. She always seems to pick just the right combinations and it doesn't matter if she is working in florals, batiks or novelty prints.

This was quilted using Filtec "Cairo" cotton thread and YLI cotton thread. The batting is Hobbs Polydown. I quilted it with my Innova longarm. This is all hand guided, no computer. I did a lot of ruler work. I SITD in every block and in almost every seam. I used a Nautilus long tail template to do the spiral in the outer border and then free handed leaves around the spiral. The inner border I used a stencil. The rest is all free hand. I have included some close up shots and a couple of shots of the back.

This was my favorite block. It is hard to see the little spirals I did in the blue with red flower fabric. I love how the leaf sprays in the trianges framed the center green square. I did a double continuous curve in the square.

Such a fabulous quilt, piecing as well as the quilting, and I love your little tribute to Barnbum! Nice job, ladies!

Spectacular to say the least. The colors and piecing are perfect and your wonderful quilting has certainly enhanced this work of art. Congratulations to you both!
