You are right about variety of quality of the muslin. I went down to my local JoAnn's and found the premium white and had a 50% off coupon. Yes it is 108" wide and I have it washed and dried already to start on a project soon. Thank you so much for the information.

Both are beautiful. Of course, my fav is the swinging checkerboard. The other is perfect for a man or boy.

Your quilt is so eye-catching. Someone on the board suggested QT had some free patterns and I went looking and printed some. But this(checkerboards) did not catch my eye on their site. When I saw yours, I thought "I probably printed that one". But after checking I saw that I hadn't, and wondered why. Then I went back to their site and they almost don't even look like the same! Yours appeals to me more, so I shall attempt to copy yours, if you don't mind.
It's amazing how fabric can change the look of a quilt and of course the change you made in the alternate block, which I like much better. Thanks for showing us this simple but pretty quilt.

You are welcome, Jaiade. I'm glad you liked my interpretation of their quilt. Also, I used 2.5" squares instead of 2".

It's listed as Swingin' Checkerboards, but they didn't use red. Theirs has light green rails and cornerstones, so it really looks different from mine. Row 21 in the free patterns....
