    Thanks everyone! Your advice was perfect! I did the quilting - stippling with variegated thread in the middle block because of the applique needing to be very secure on the beach - and I did a meandering loop da loop on the rest! I just finished so tomorrow I'll add the binding and then post a picture. It's so wonderful having all you expert quilters supporting us who are slowly getting there as quilters ourselves. It means so much!

    I forgot to mention that I bought a blue net bag meant for laundry or camping etc. for them to carry the quilt in. It should be very helpful!

    Wow I wouldn't put that quilt on the beach. My idea of a beach quilt is big squares and a flannel back. Not one somebody might want to steal!
