That makes me nostalgic for the 70's when I bought a very ugly painted and gouged headboard for my son for when he moved to a "big" boy bed. $5 was all I could afford back then. So, I stripped it, and sanded out the gouges, stained and varnished, and it was absolutly beautiful!! That was the last furniture I refinished. You make me want to do something again. But DO protect your precious sewing hands, OK?

You're right ..paint stripper is horrible and it does burn.Your cabinet will be beautiful when finished. I used to strip a lot of things when I was younger. I have to do my Singer treadle. Don't look forward to doing it, though.

I've sprayed the iron base of my sewing machine twice with CrudCutter. The brushed it and sprayed it down with water. It appears the only dirt on it is cigarette smoke. That ugly goldy/brown color just rolled off as I sprayed it.
Later today, I'm going to spray paint it with gloss black enanmel.
OH, and I've got 6 out of 11 pieces of the wood done. The framework that holds the drawers might be the most difficut.
Got some gloves rated for chemicals. The yellow kitchen gloves sprang a leak and let the stripper residue inside the glove. TALK ABOUT BURN!
