    Judy, Since so much interest was shown, I decided to post in tutorials. There are instructions on how to do it there and also you can google how to crayola quilt. Now to answer your question. After adding the freezer paper to the back you just color like you would on a coloring page. Check out the tutorials and I hope it helps.

    You have really captured those birds. On first glance I thought the oriole and bluebird were fine hand embroidery. Thanks for the inspiration.

    I don't know how the fabric crayons work, I'm just using a box of 96 regular Crayola's. I read something about the fabric crayons, but can't recall what it said on the crayola quilt.

    Oh, just gorgeoous, and interesting. Must learn how to do this process. Such beautiful work. I have hundreds of photos, mostly flowers, birds and butterflies. Always wanted to scan them to the printable fabrics for a quilt, afraid the color wouldn't hold up.
