Benefit Quilt
I haven't posted a picture before, so I hope that these will show up! Actually, my 14 year old daughter did it for me, because I couldn't even begin to figure it out, lol. This is a quilt that I made for my sister's good friend/neighbor's cancer benefit. They found out about a month ago that he has stomach cancer and he is not doing well. This Sat. is a benefit to raise money to help pay for the medical bills, etc. I have only made 2 rag quilts and 2 other quilts before, so I consider myself a beginner. We are going to sell raffle tickets because if a person only pays a dollar or two to try to win the quilt, they might forgive the flaws of a newbie quilter, instead of paying a lot more money in a silent auction. Hopefully, there is a picture of the front, the back, and a close up of the quilting. The pattern is Summer in the Park and it is made almost entirely from material in my stash. I used a blue variegated thread for quilting the blue strips because of the variety of the blues. The backing is minky and very soft! Thanks for looking.

Your quilt is beautiful. I think you should be very proud of such an accomplishment. I consider myself a beginner as well. I completed a top for my DGD a few days ago and hung it up in the living room so I could look at it for awhile. I am glad I did because I found two mistakes that I am going to fix. My DS, visiting from South Dakota, saw it and he thought it was nice. I pointed out the flaws and he said "It looks good from my house". I thought it was so funny. My point for you is, it looks good from my house and I am sure it looks great close up too. I hope you make a lot of money and that your friend gets better.
