    You certainly have worked some magic with this quilt. It was nice to have the old blocks, but you took them to a whole new level.

    Feline: What a gorgeous heirloom you have helped create. I would never have thought the embroidered birds could be transformed into peacocks with their quilting. Can't imagine the time it took to mark all those pebbles around the perimeters of the blocks to get even circles on each side, and your feathers are always spectacular. WOW. Can't wait to see your next one.

    Emilia's Nana, I am crazy but not that crazy. I didn't mark those pebbles at all. I did mark all the leaf and vine in the sashing and the swallows in the cornerstones and even a lot of the spines in the feathers, but not the pebbles. I stitched the "trench" to lay them in and that helped keep them somewhat uniform but there are a lot that are rather, er, um, freeform, yeah, that's the ticket, Freeform (which sounds much better than lopsided)!
