I hope that this discussion hasn;t taken you away from making these lovely blocks.
Though sometimes, we need a little time in the midst to think of what;s next!
OKSGlad is right ... You might want to think about the period that the quilt is from and make it according to what was the norm. And too, what your Mom would have liked and/or done!

Yes, my Mom would have been the same ... all about practicality! Though remember the crazy quilts often had oodles of embellishments ... and often far from being practical!

So do what YOU want ... and I know your Mom would be cheering you on, to just have FUN with it!

No QuiltE, it's not the discussion that's keeping me away from these blocks. My mind is not at ease and there are problems I have to solve first before I can get back to these blocks.

Ahhhhh, an answer to prayer. Two new people to love you to replace the ones you've lost. I'll bet your mom is so happy for you that she's laughing.

    Thank you dlong!
Yes I bet she is. My first should have been twins too but one died very early in the pregnancy. The first thing I asked was if everything is ok with both of them. When I heard they're doing fine I couldn't stop laughing because I always teased them with having twins. I still can't believe it!

I love the bright colors too! I'm sure you will think of your mom everytime you use the finished quilt.

My mom would of loved it too. It doesn't matter how many years go by and it's been. 15 so far and I miss her terribly.
