What a beautiful gift, you have done a great job, love the purple too! May I ask how you did the writing?

Thanks everyone. I loved making this quilt. I had no idea it was going to end up like this but it just happened. I loved the middle star and the fans and then it just came. For the writing, I did the words on the computer in Lucinda handwriting font in the center of the paper. Then I cut the paper to size 31/2x61/2 and made sure the size was right. I think I used 26.Once that was figured out I traced it on my fabric using a light box and then embroidered it onto the fabric in purple of course. The whole quilt just seemed to fall together nicely. And after my friend quilted it I didn't want to give it up. Thanks for all your wonderful comments.
