Black in a baby quilt?! Biscuit Quilt

i just made one of these pillow quilts and had entered it into our local fair it took 2nd place ut boy let me tell you i made mine full size and what a job moving it around on the sewing machine to sew more rows on. let me ask did you put batting behind the squares on yours. you did a beautiful job

she used batting, a medium loft poly on the back. did it just like you would with a regular quilt, backing,batting and puffy top.
she said she didn't want to feel the seams on the back of the little puffs. i don't know how it is usually done, but that is the way she did hers.

I've used black in baby quilts, especially with bright colors.
I heard that the more contrast, the more visually interesting for the baby; supposedly babies develop color awareness with black and white first, then the brights, then the pastels.
Those who received the baby quilts let me know later how much the babies loved the quilts, so make sure to put some good contrast in any quilt given to a baby (unless you are appealing to mom & dad :) )
