I, too, have a DG named Alex (Alexis). When she was little, her favorite color was black. One summer when she visited us for a week, we shopped for fabric and made her a sun dress. She insisted on the color black. She was about six or seven at the time. She is 23 now and recently reminded me of our dressmaking time together. A fond memory for both of us. I'm sure she would love your quilt. I know I do especially the pinwheels which are my favorite block. Thanks for sharing.
