    Well you can make them as big or small as you like - I drew it on graph paper then called each square on paper an inch in the quilt. I could have doubled up to larger blocks, or made the original grid bigger but I wanted to start small to get the hang of it! I think I'll put a fairly wide border of the fabric above and leave it at that - but straight or the first pic? The jury's still out but my DH now says the first one. :D

    Ermm they're mostly HRTs actually! The book is called Block Benders by Margaret Miller. :-D

    I like unique and unusual, love it. Like your background fabric, way too cool. I am going to look for that book, very creative.

    Thanks everyone - the book is out of print but I got it on Amazon here in the UK used for the equivalent of about $10...

    I wonder if there's a way of doing the border like origami so it can be folded to be either way? :mrgreen: :lol:
