    I like your idea of writing names of places under the patches. I think it will be smashing to see it in lots of different colors. Way to go! :lol:

    Dresden Plate, Henry...you are after my own heart. I LOVE Dresdens. Good job. No, you don't have too much writing on the quilt, Won't it be a great heirloom for your children to see your work and view all the places you traveled in your life. Making each wagon wheel spoke a different fabric will be so nice. Once you have it made you'll be surprized how doubly gorgeous it is once the quilting is done on it. I've made 4 Dresdens and each I thought were gorgeous but when they came back from the long arm quilters I couldn't believe how enhanced they were. Mine were stippled around the plate and had a quilted motif like a rose in the center of the wheel but NO QUILTING on the spokes which made the quilts look 3-D and the wheels or plates just popped off the blanket. I can't wait to see your finished quilt. Please don't forget to post pictures.
