When you look up the definition of quilt, it says three pices kept together with stitches. It does not say that it must be cotton. The most expensive quilt ever sold (For $70,000!)had silk, wool, polester, cotton, you name it. Anyone who would laugh at your use of a different fabric, is not someone I want to know. How rude! Your art piece is well done, unusual, and very artistic. What else is there to say?

That is beautiful, modern quilts can be made out of any fabric.

You never know who is reading this board!!
Thank you all for your wonderful compliments and comments! Some of them made me cry, especially, the one from my "dear room mate"! I'm glad there are no quit police here.
I have learned from my youth to be kind and treat people the way you would like to be treated. And to persevere in the things you believe in. I love reading all the Quilting Board! It's theraputic and I learn all the time from it. I feel like I know so many people on this board they're from all over the world!
There's a famous quote, "It's not what you say but how you say it that people remember."
    Kindly,
    JoAnn

Nice job, I had the same thing happen to me when I joined a Round Robin, nasty cruel remarks, needless to say, I kept on doing my thing. I too use upholstery fabric for crazy quilting, totes, pillows and coasters. Love it.

So glad you have shared this with us. Some of the most beautiful quilts are quilts that "break" all of the rules. Besides if all of us made the same quilt out of the same fabrics using the same pattern, it would be boring!!!!!!!!!!!
