What a great quilt, your husband must be thrilled with it...and you for making it for him. Thank you for sharing.

I measured it this morning to get the binding made- it is 98" square; the applique is fusible, machine applique- I had found different 'sea life' fabrics/panels, fused heat & bond lite to the wrong side & just started cutting out the fish, coral, sea life I wanted to use- placing each in a big bag. after I had the bargello (body) done, the port hole & frame on I laid the whole thing out on the living room floor over a laid out cotton batting for padding/protection; with my bag of 'sea life' and told my hubby----'ok, populate your ocean' ; he laid it out the way he wanted it (he thinks I go overboard-get too busy- so, better he decide) then I peeled the papers, crawled around on the floor with my iron fusing each piece into place. when I had it all fused I picked it up & headed back to the sewing room to stitch each piece into place. the machine side of the binding is now on and I will start hand stitching the other side today...then finally done- YEA! bargello's are my favorite 'go to ' pattern- and I always use them as a 'backdrop' to some sort of (scene) I've done woodsy ones, other ocean ones, mountains & streams, kids playgrounds...what ever- I have fun creating on top of a bargello. thanks for all the compliments, I will probably enter it in a show or 2 this year.
