Oh Wow! I just wish my hand quilting could look like yours. Your stitches are perfect. What is your secret.

    Just love your work

Andrea, your work is always so beautiful.

What type of batting do you use?

Everytime I see your work it makes me want to do a wholecloth quilt. I have pretty bad 'uncle arthur' in the base of my thumbs, so putting pressure on them just by holding the needle is difficult. I know some battings are harder to push through than others. Thanks in advance.

    :-D

O MY Gosh that stitching is something to die for. It is super gorgeous. Have any idea how many hours you have into it? I would feel so blessed if I could hand quilt like that.

I love to use a batting that is easy to needle, low loft and gives an antique look to the quilt. For that reasons I prefer cotton battings like Quilter's Dream, Tuscany or Legacy 100% or the cotton/poly blends 80/20 of Hobbs or Legacy. The batting should be without scrim.
I've also tried wool batting once and this was really wonderful to needle and to quilt.

Well, I don't know exactly - but I think I needed about 650 hours for it. I can quilt full-time, round about 45 hours a week, and I needed 3 and a half months to finish the quilt.
