I just tried to put back a bobbin assembly on an old Dressmaker/Outlet Co badged sewing machine (Model E-388) It is also known as a ZZ. There is a spring that fell out while I was removing the main screw and I can't figure out for the life of me how to put it back together. I PM'd Billy for help, but if any of you machine wizards can help in the meantime I would be eternally grateful. Thanks, Jean

Oh goodness, wish I could help. Someone out there I'm sure will figure it out.

Okay the spring is not going to be that bad to get on. The round part goes on the machine with the pointy thing facing out. the plated piece on the bobbin winder should have a hole that said pointy piece goes into. then the other end should go under the winder somehow to put tension on the winder.

This will take so fiddling but you will get it in there and then your good as gold.
