OK I just put a border on a quilt I did a big boo and big no no. So it is wavy. I should know better. This is what I did. I wanted to miter the corners so I made a border strip longer than what I needed. I sewed from the middle to each end. No measuring. I have since learned you double the size of the width of the border and add that to the tail and half that at each end and measure the length for the border size. I did stop at the 1/4" in on both sides but oh I see waves that I doubt will come out. So I am getting friendly with my seam ripper! Then I am wondering why I even bothered with mitered corners on this quilt--LOL. Will post pics when I get it straightened out. Too ashamed now to post what I have done. Tee hee. I know there are no quilt police though.

Fifty lashes with a wet noodle! Just kidding! I have a tendency to pull to tight on my binding when sewing it to the front. Makes it curve under a tad. Urg.

Thank you for being so brave and willing to share. We all have used a seam ripper to undo a shortcut! LOL.
