Okay--this is as good as it's going to get.

I know the tassels are a bit short--but I didn't want to toss the hemp cord I have already used. I'll make the next ones longer. I tried a lot of ways--and this was worked the best--and was easy. I'd like the bead more toward the end of the cord--but it's tough and just too time consuming to play with it.

I spent $20 on beads today! Those are expensive lil things. I believe they were 30% off last week. These bookmarks are $5 for sure.

I have more started... but there's a busy weekend ahead, so it may be a few days before photos come.

Your comments made me laugh... my students will get pencils in addition to the bookmarks--and they each get 2 new books too.

No cardboard in these and I decided against quilting them--they are soft and flat.

    Show is in November.

    I checked, Loretta--and so far I have:
    Big quilt-1
    Lap quilts-4
    Baby quilts-3
    doll blankets-3 (one sold)
    large wall hangings-2
    table toppers-4
    table runners-13
    large hot pads-2
    8" potholders-15
    book marks-15

I still need to finish many of these items--mostly they need the binding sewed on the back. My goal is to make more doll blankets (maybe 5?)and bookmarks. (maybe 20?) I also want to make some pillow cases to sell (maybe 10?). I decided against ornaments for now because they are quite time consuming. I can have a few more several hour long sewing sessions before school starts...but I have to start getting my room ready next week, plus I'll working with two horses as much as I can before school starts. AND there's that ragged flannel I need to finish. Quilts on the list to start are A Walk in the Park that Cathie made, and my husband's CW quilt... I'm not putting any kind of deadline expectations on those. I might get gray(er).

The came out beautiful Karla. As for the price I think they are worth more than $5, there is a lady down here in the town of Knightdale that sells crochet book marks for $12 to $15 and there ia not much to them.

Where do you purchase grommets? I've looked and do not find them. That's such a good way to use scraps and donate to charity.
